Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol

By beginning of 2007 our friend Ivo Husić, one of the founders and doyennes of Rotary in Croatia, took upon himself to set up from scratch another Rotary club in Zagreb, namely Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol.

Acting in his capacity as club initiator (”godfather”), he used his familiarity with organising members and the club set-up while drawing on his previous experience in starting the first Rotary club in the independent Republic of Croatia. Within only a couple of months, from what used to be an initial small membership basis, a greater membership emerged that enabled us to become a full Rotary club with an autonomous club status, led only by Rotary guiding principles of building goodwill and better friendships.

Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol relatively soon increased its membership. Having agreed that 40 is the perfect number for a club membership total, the club members stopped accepting new members when their number reached 20, thereby leaving the door open for new members that would join the club at some point after the Charter of 2008 because the club had already achieved its desired uniqueness. Uniqueness that constantly needs to be nurtured and sustained, which shows a great diversity in club membership, that is to say in variety of classifications, professions and vocations.

Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol was established in 2008. We have strived to encourage positive changes in our community eversince by setting examples and engaging ourselves in many short-term and long-term humanitarian projects.
